As a passionate and detail-oriented instructional designer, I enjoy approaching complex projects with a holistic approach. A large part of my success while working with people stems from my ability to cultivate an intuitive understanding of their needs, and spearhead the project from there. My extensive background in education has allowed me to work with people from all backgrounds. I have extensive experience with start-up companies and remote work.  Have a look at the work I’ve done in the past, and get in touch to learn more.

Teacher Assisting a Student

"Before learning can begin, all learners, no matter their age, must first have their basic needs met.  Then, they can Bloom."

LEARNING THEORY

Anyone is able to learn.  Creating life-long learners takes time, encouragement, and endurance.  However, before a learner is able to begin educational advancement, they must have all of their primary needs met.  Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs provides a guideline of primary necessities each person must have in order to be successful.  Once the primary needs of food, shelter, water, security, love, and self-esteem have been met, the learner can then begin to grow as a person.

Instructional designers can contribute to the educational process by creating content that supports the needs of the learners.  By creating instructional opportunities that are engaging, encouraging, and forgiving instructional designers create a safe environment for learners of all backgrounds to achieve their goals.
